About the Group
The Working Party reviews, amends and updates the annual CIPFA (Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy) questionnaire on municipal waste management statistics. Statistics are provided on material weights, recycling, treatment, costs and income. It meets annually with the secretariat provided by CIPFA. The Working Party is one of a number run by CIPFA covering local authority statistics. From 2005/06 most of the weight data will be provided by DEFRA from Waste Dataflow returns. The Working party includes local authorities, a representative of DEFRA and a representative of CIWM.
